OC Read offers different programs to help you, depending on your needs and reading goals. All services are free and confidential. Reading Tutoring
For Orange County adults who want to improve their basic reading and writing skills. OC Read does an informal evaluation of your skills and finds a tutor who can meet with you at your local OC Public Libraries branch for two hours a week. For a list of all branches, visit ocpl.org/libraries.
Reading Tutoring matches are available for residents of Orange County who:
- Are 16 years or older
- Are not enrolled in a degree-granting program
- Have two or more hours a week to devote to tutoring
- Attended most of their K-12 education in the United States (*Adult learners do not have to have graduated high school to be eligible).

Walk-in Tutoring
Visit Walk-in Tutoring for quick help with reading, writing, conversation practice, and more. Work one-on-one with a tutor to:
- Edit an essay
- Practice English conversation (all levels welcome!)
- Get help with reading and spelling
- Learn how to send text messages
- ...and more!
This service is for people ages 16+. English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL) learners and native English speakers are welcome. Tutoring is available at the following locations on a first-come, first-served basis:
- Tustin Library - Mondays and Saturdays, 10 AM - 2 PM, Wednesdays 5 PM - 7 PM
- Rancho Santa Margarita Library - Mondays, 5 PM - 7 PM
- Fountain Valley Library - Thursdays, 3 PM - 5 PM

For Orange County Residents looking for English tutoring and classes in reading, writing, speaking, and/or listening, OC Read offers personalized assistance locating low-cost and no-cost programs. Please call our office to speak to a literacy coordinator about programs in your region.
